A provocative ABC1 event designed to kick-start a new national conversation about the big issue dividing us.
Separated by a generation, and divided by their beliefs, two passionate, intelligent and successful Australians, former senator Nick Minchin and youth activist Anna Rose, go on a journey of mutual discovery to see if they can change each other’s minds about the most divisive issue in Australia today: climate change.

It’s an adventure that will challenge both their beliefs, while giving the Australian public a much-needed opportunity to think afresh about where they stand on the defining issue of our times: what to do about global warming?

In a unique interactive experience over 2 hours of riveting viewing, a one-hour documentary is followed by a live studio audience. At home, and on-line, the national audience joins in, leading to a cliffhanger decision. Have we shifted the national mood? Have we changed people’s minds?

Followed by a special edition of Q&A.

This 10 x 26min observational documentary series follows Aussie kids as they compete in the 2010 Australian National Irish Dancing Championships and then the 2011 World Irish Dancing Championships in Dublin, Ireland.

I recently completed the recording for a new Flashcards for iPad produced by INKids, producers of educational apps for toddlers and pre-schoolers.

Their aim –  to make learning fun. A  great project to work on.

“Best in Category” Win at New Media Film Festival Goes to “Treasure Kai” App

“Treasure Kai and the Lost Gold of Shark Island” won “Best in Category” for Apps at the 2^nd Annual New Media Film Festival in San Francisco honoring “The Best in New Media” this week.

“If you’re going to use an app for kids, this a really cool adventure to go on,” said event director, Susan Johnston, at the award ceremony; adding that the storybook for children delivers “…many, many different ways to go on a treasure hunt.”

I recently completed the narration for the Historic Houses Trust museum DVD. The 15 minute DVD explores the history of Rouse Hill House and Farm from its colonial history to the late 1900s.

What a lovely project. I recently recorded the narration for a beautiful iPhone story app about a cute little dog called Geoff and some of his crazy adventures. Simple, beautifully illustrated, gorgeous music and with a subtle but important message.

Should be available towards the end of the year.

“In 2011 Beyond Empathy set up a mobile video booth in a horse float to collect stories from people in Armidale, NSW. People were asked the question: tell us about the role of alcohol in your life and for your family and friends.”
